Dr. Anand Vinekar
Dr. Anand Vinekar currently heads the departments of Pediatric Retina and Tele-ROP services at Narayana Nethralaya Postgraduate Institute of Ophthalmology, Bangalore, India and is Adjunct Associate Professor at MS Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore. He has pioneered a Tele-Ophthalmology program for preventable childhood blindness for the state of Karnataka (KIDROP Group) for which he has been invited as Technical Expert in Preventable Infant Blindness by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The project which he initiated in 2008 has now been referenced by the Min. of External Affairs, Harvard Business Review, India Today, Indian Institute of Information Technology and the Indian Institute of Management and is currently the largest Tele-ROP network in the world. KIDROP won the prestigious national public choice “Innovative PPP of the year” at the e-India summit supported by Government of India in 2012. He has won the Kataria Gold Medal, awarded by the Prime Minister of India, the All-India Young Researcher award in 2005, honored by His Holiness Dalai Lama for his scientific contribution in 2009 and the Sight Savers Citation for “Outstanding contribution in the field of ROP” and the Positive Health Award for “Outstanding Contribution to Society” in 2010 and the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award (IIFS) in 2011. He has been listed in the Marquis Who’s Who of the World, 2012 & 2013 Edition for his contributions.
He is an alumnus of St. John's Medical College, where he completed his MBBS with a university record of 17 gold medals and also received the Pope Paul Medal. He completed his Post-graduation & Retina training at the prestigious Postgraduate Institute (Chandigarh. He has completed his International Fellowship in Pediatric Retina at a premier center in Michigan, USA. He has also completed the fellowship exam of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow, UK and holds a degree in Hospital Administration. He has several national & international presentations to his credit, including several publications and book chapters in his specialty. He has received the All-India Young Researcher award in 2005. Dr Vinekar is an invited member of the Association of Pediatric Retinal Society (USA) and a reviewer for RETINA, BJO, IOVS and OPHTHALMOLOGY journals.

Mr. Praveen Sharma
Mr. Praveen Sharma has been with KIDROP since its inception in 2008. Under his leadership, KIDROP grew from 3 hospitals to over 80 centers across Karnataka state. He has helped conceive and execute training programs for over 18 teams from several parts of the country. Mr. Sharma is the recipient of the Sight Savers citation for his contribution in community service of ROP. He has co-authored the “REDROP” study, which has become a new benchmark for enrollment of infants into an ROP program at the community level. Mr. Sharma has now been awarded the title of “Manager - Operations” for “FOREVER” , an ambitious pilot program supported by Government of India, aimed at universal eye screening of infants in the villages of our State. His innovative efforts to reduce attrition of follow up of rural mothers and his passion to reduce the burden of childhood blindness in the community are recognized and appreciated.

Mr. Sivakumar Munusamy
Mr. Sivakumar Munusamy is the lead technician of KIDROP and has been with the  program since its inception in 2008. His skills as a pediatric retinal imaging specialist have been recognized world over and he has received special mention at the World ROP Congress in 2009. He leads the technical training division of the program, which has resulted in over 18 teams being trained in imaging infants. His research contributions include spectral domain OCT imaging in infants using a novel method and interpretation of macular changes in the premature, which he has co-authored in the prestigious IOVS journal. Mr. Sivakumar has been awarded the title of “Manager -Technical” for 'FOREVER', an ambitious program supported by Government of India, aimed at universal eye screening of infants in the villages. His impactful teaching skills, ability to translate imaging algorithms into practical clinical judgment and his impact on the program's technical excellence are recognized and appreciated.

Mr. Krishnan Narashimha
Mr. Krishnan Narashimha is part of KIDROP's “A team” at the headquarters and has been with the program since its inception in 2008. He has shown exemplary technical skills in infant imaging using the Retcam and other devices including the hand held spectral domain optical coherence tomograph. He has played a key role in KIDROP's training component, and has supervised the training of over 18 teams, including those outside the state of Karnataka. Mr. Narashimha possess a special eye for detail and has the discerning ability to detect clinical entities that emerge from ocular imaging, especially those performed in the premature infant.

Mr. Srinivas Venkate Gowda
Mr. Srinivas Venkate Gowda has been KIDROP's main pilot. With his ability to steer the program vehicle, he travels with the team and the equipment to all the centers that KIDROP's headquarters covers and has to his credit over 2,75,000 kilometers of travel, on unchartered roads in the most rural areas of the state. His stamina, ability to take on extreme work conditions and ‘never say die’ attitude make him an essential member of the KIDROP family.

Dr. Naresh Kumar Yadav
He completed his basic medical education from SRTR Medical College, Ambejogai Maharashtra & post graduation from Government Medical College, Aurangabad in 1996, followed by a fellowship in Vitreoretina at Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai in 1997-98. He did Observership in Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam, and University Hospital, Essen, Germany in 2003. He completed his fellowship examination of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FRCS) Glasgow, UK. He has several national & international presentations to his credit.  His interests include Diabetic retinopathy, vascular occlusions, choroidal neovascular membrane, and minimally invasive vitreous surgery (MIVS). He is Member of Vitreo Retinal Society of India, Trauma Society of India, All India Ophthalmological Society, Maharashtra Ophthalmology Society, Karnataka ophthalmological society. He currently heads the Vitreoretinal services at Narayana Nethralaya, Bangalore.

Dr. Sherine Braganza
She completed her basic medical education & postgraduation from St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore. She did a fellowship in retina & Vitreous at Retina foundation in Ahmedabad in 2001. She also cleared the International Council of Ophthalmology examination; Edinburough.1998 She previously worked in St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore and in Lions eye hospital, Karimnagar. Her main areas of interest include Vitreoretina, Retinopathy of prematurity, ARMD, and Diabetic Retinopathy. She is now a consultant in Vitreoretina at Narayana Nethralaya-2, Narayana Health City, Bangalore.

Dr. K Vasudha
She completed her basic medical education from Mysore Medical College, Mysore & post graduation from Government Medical College, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, followed by a fellowship in Strabismus & Cataract at Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai in 1998. She did an Observership in Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam, The Netherlands and University Hospital, Essen, Germany in 2003. She is a Life member of Strabismological Society of India and a Member of Indian Medical Association. Her areas of interest include treatment of amblyopia and refractive errors in children, community pediatric ophthalmology, routine & complicated strabismus and paediatric cataract surgeries. She is the principal investigator of the Pavagada paediatric eye disease study and currently heads the Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus at Narayana Nethralaya-1, Rajajinagar, Bangalore.

She completed her basic medical education & postgraduation from Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore. She is a Diplomate National Board of Examinations. She underwent a short-term ALCON phacoemulsification fellowship at Narayana Nethralaya, Bangalore in 2006. Her main interests include general ophthalmology, paediatric and community ophthalmology and cataract surgery. She is currently working as a consultant in Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismology at Narayana Nethralaya-1, Rajajinagar, Bangalore.

Dr. Ashwin C Mallipatna
He received his basic medical education & postgraduation from St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore. He is also a Diplomate of the National Board of Examinations. His expertise includes paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus with a keen interest in ocular genetics and retinoblastoma. He is also working in the fields of ocular trauma and community ophthalmology. He is now doing a clinical fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology at Hospital for Sick Children at Toronto under Dr. Alex Levin. He is a member of the International Society for Ocular Trauma and has presented his work on trauma in international conferences. He is currently working as a consultant in Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismology at Narayana Nethralaya-1, Rajajinagar, Narayana Nethralaya 2, Narayana Health City & Narayana Netralaya 3, Ashok Nagar, Bangalore.Bangalore.

He completed his basic medical education from Kasturba Medical College Mangalore (MAHE), Karnataka in 2000 and post graduation-DNB from Narayana Nethralaya Super Speciality Eye Hospital followed by RGUHS recognised Vitreo retinal fellowship from the same institute. His areas of interests include Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Detachments, Age related macular degeneration besides surgical retina. He is currently a consultant in Vitreo retina at Narayana Nethralaya.
